Thoreau, in his book Walden, writes, “I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life” (Lauter, p. 1758)
We believe like Thoreau that human beings must fight for a healthy environment by developing the philosophy of green living.
Nature is being destroyed with the construction of shopping malls, suburban and exurban housing, and factories. Human beings should not develop a consumerist ideology but should have a more contemplative relation to nature.
Therefore, Green living is the solution to stop global warming. We should develop a sustainable architecture, solar energy, fight for water and forest conservation, and recycle.
Like in Walden, we should grow our own food and live closer to nature instead of polluting it.
